Documentary about Slovenes

Hi everyone!

My name is Maja Senekovič and I’ll be shooting a documentary about Slovenes and our identity in the forthcoming season for national television of Slovenia.
When I was thinking about how to make it, I was thinking to myself: ,,Who could better describe us, if not foreigners who came to live to Slovenia and who can notice what we are like most!’’
Especially when comparing foreign habits, ideology, etc. with ours.

My purpose is not to tell only about how we are like, but also what identifies us. What do we do in certain situations, what is important to us, what joins us, what makes us same,... (concerning sports, coulture, ...) Anythigs for our everyday.

I know - a lot of people and a lot of different expectations,… Good and bad experiences, things one can not get used to… and things that at the end make a day going.

For a certain reason, I’d like to have different groups of people in my movie. Experiences are different when talking to foreigners who live here for a shorter period of time, don’t know to speak Slovene and of those, who got to know our history, language,…

I also don’t plan to show only the talking, but I’d like to see some action. I’d like to see how you get along in everyday, with Slovenes,… Please take some time, and think about different situations in everyday life. I’d be so happy to get people who have variety of different experiences, dance our national dances, sing folksongs,… (maybe). Or nothing that Slovenian as well.
(i need a bit more help for people who don't live in Maribor and Ljubljana, since I'd like to show Slovenes as a nation not as inhabitants of two towns. We are quite different. Some people already told me. ;) )

Be aware this is only a formal research. After choosing and forming a script, I’ll be able to move toward possible shooting,..
If you have any further question, please let me know. I’m hoping for your help and reply.

I'm looking forward for your replys.
Thank you so much for sharing some of your experiences with me,

Greetings ,

Maja Senekovič

Looking for Expats around Lucia

Hello!

My name's Tiziana, and I'm an Italian national even though I consider myself a "citizen of the world" really, having lived - for the last 20 years - in various countries such as the UK, Japan, and Australia. That was until last year, that is when I met my now husband and decided to follow him to his home country, Slovenia. I live in Lucia, near Portoroz.

I have just had a baby and, after a difficult pregnancy that practically forced me to bed for almost 9 months, I am finally ready to meet new people of any nationality, age, gender, and colour. I am fluent in English, Italian, French and Spanish, but I speak no Slovene at all.

If anyone is interested in meeting someone who loves life, Salsa dancing, art, nature, Traditional Chinese Medicine (I'm an acupuncturist), good food and intelligent conversations, please feel free to contact me directly at the following email address: tb105@hotmail.com

I look forward to meeting you soon!

Ciao!

Tiziana
